Orientation Visit
Please
contact the Toowoomba Netball Association if you would like to organise a visit
to have a look around to get to know the facilities. The carpark, walkways and courts are
available anytime to view.
Arriving at the Toowoomba Netball
Association (TNA)
TNA is located in Carey Street (turn left from Ruthven St, if
heading south, just past Alderley St).
There is a
u-shaped road / carpark area off Carey Street.
If you are coming from Ruthven Street
drive into the second entrance (as it’s a one-way loop).
Accessible Parking
Towards the
end of the carpark closest to the playground and buildings, there are three
disability parking spots for people with parking permits.
Netball Courts
There are 19
hard court netball courts.
Netability
will be played on the purple court in front of the buildings.
There is
also a path from the carpark to the buildings (toilet/shower, canteen, club
house).
Bathroom Facilities
The toilets are in the first building
you come to. The accessible toilet /
shower is this one (there is also one around the back of this building).
First Aid Room, Canteen and Club
House
Passed the bathrooms
is a door to the first aid room and then the canteen windows on the left and
the Toowoomba Netball Association clubhouse straight ahead.
There are steps to access the clubhouse but also level entry through the doors to the left past the canteen:
Netability - On the Netball Courts
There will
be netball games happening on most of the courts.
Netability
will have its own court to use, close to the clubhouse and bathrooms.
During
Netability you’ll join your teammates in fun activities, in learning netball
skills and learning about how to play netball.
The main goal of Netability is for everyone to participate as much as
they can, have fun and enjoy the game of netball.
At each Netability session there will be a chat with the coach at the start to let you know what’s going to happen; some warm-up activities to get your body moving; some fun games and activities; and learning some netball skills.
If you need
a break during the Netability program – just let your coach know and make sure
you have a break where your coach can see you (to make sure you’re okay) or, if
you need to go to a quieter space, take a support person with you.
If you think
you might get overwhelmed (as there are lots of people and noise), please feel
free to bring along anything you need to help you regulate (e.g. noise
cancelling headphones, fidget items, snacks, drinks etc.).
If you need
a support person with you on the court during Netability activities that’s fine
too, just let your coach know.
If there is
anything you need during the session (e.g. drink, toilet break, help with an
activity, something you don’t want to do) – just let your coach know.
